25% Drop in Tata Motors’ Domestic Sales

The company said in a statement that Tata Motors reported a decline of 25.32% in its total sales in the month of November 2019. A total of 55,074 units were sold in the same period last year.


The company further noted that domestic sales saw a 25% drop in 38,057 units compared to 50,470 units in November 2018.

In the commercial vehicles segment, Tata Motors recorded sales of 30,588 units in November 2019, a decline of 19% as against 37,957 units in the same month last year.

In the month of November 2019, medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales fell by 38% with sales of 6,050 units.

Girish Wagh, chairman of Tata Motors Limited's commercial vehicle business unit, said in a statement, "As we are moving towards the BSVI transition, the focus is a gradual stock decline, with retail sales exceeding wholesale in November. More than 10 percent. M & HCV sales have increased 23.6 percent over the past month, with inquiries gradually increasing as fleet owners realize the economic benefits of replacement of their older vehicles.

Last month, M & HCV sales including trucks, buses and international trade totaled 7,736 units as compared to 13,162 units last year.
